23/24 STEAM TEAM
Virtual Academy is looking for a team of motivated students to start our first VA STEAM team. We need all interests and talents to make this team a success.
We will solve problems critically and make prototypes while learning collaboration, teamwork, and responsibility skills.
Who qualifies:
Students in grades 3rd to 6th. Students who are ready to work hard persevere and explore their talents.
Time commitment:
About 1-2 hours per week for the 23/24 school year.
What will we do?
Students on this team will meet virtually/in person to practice various STEM skills & perseverance via team challenges. Once students have developed the necessary skills, we will compete against other schools in STEM challenges.
Family STEM Projects
We are thrilled to introduce our exciting new initiative: the Monthly Family STEM Challenges brought to you by the STEAM Academy. Engaging and educational, these projects aim to involve the entire family in the wonderful world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Whether you choose to utilize materials readily available in your own home or prefer to request supplies from the school site, rest assured that we have you covered.
Each month, we will present you with a unique STEM challenge that will guide students through the captivating process of engineering. By participating in these challenges, not only will students enhance their critical thinking skills, but they will also unleash their innate creativity. These projects serve as a fantastic opportunity for families to bond, learn, and explore the endless possibilities that STEM has to offer.
