Virtual Academy offers numerous opportunities for students to engage both academically and socially. Take a look at some of the ways our students connect in person and synchronously:
- Prom(High School)
- Grad Night(High School)
- Graduation-all Seniors will graduate with the Virtual Academy
Performing Arts:
We are excited to announce our partnership with Broadway Now!, an innovative theater arts program founded by actor Tony Plana. Our program is designed to help students discover their talents without prior experience. We only require positivity and perseverance from our students. Each year, our program produces musicals that are co-produced and performed by talented students of Virtual Academy. Additionally, we offer opportunities for students to learn music through singing and playing instruments.
STEAM Team:
Our vision for the foreseeable future involves a significant emphasis on STEAM. By 2025-2026, we plan to have a fully equipped Maker Space where students can engage in building, imagining, and innovating. Our STEAM team is currently working on engineering projects, 3D printing, and coding robots. We are also proud to have a partnership with LEGO, and we have distributed LEGO kits that can be used not only as a fun activity but also as a means of reinforcing the curriculum.
eSports:
In 2023, the Virtual Academy established its first eSports team. While our students compete in games like Smash Bros, they also gain valuable life skills such as teamwork, time management, and cooperation. We are thrilled to invite passionate and talented individuals interested in gaming and willing to improve their skills to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for gamers to showcase their abilities and take their gaming skills to the next level.
Family Days and Events:
We host various events throughout the year, including Family Days, where families can join us on campus for engaging activities. These events have included crafts, LEGO building, classroom activities, astronomy nights, and carnivals. To stay updated on the latest happenings, we encourage you to follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and ParentSquare.
Field Trips:
Yes! Virtual Academy students have participated in field trips such as The Living Desert, Science Camp, San Juan Capistrano, and middle school students attending the Disneyland Imagination Campus.
Collaborative Group Work:
Throughout the day, students work in collaborative groups through breakout rooms. Students engage in teamwork activities and share their thoughts and ideas. This interactive learning approach encourages meaningful interactions and promotes a sense of community among students. While on campus, students engage in team-building activities and opportunities to problem-solve with partners.
Enrichment Clubs:
Enrichment Clubs are multi-age groups formed based on student interests. These groups meet weekly, allowing students to socialize with peers outside class. With 2-3 cycles of enrichment clubs, it is an excellent way for students to explore their passions and connect with others who share similar interests. Past enrichment clubs include Virtual Board games, Graphic Design, Chess, Art, and Yoga! Clubs are available both virtually and in person!
